Is this too expensive for a Fusion?
I’m thinking about buying a 07 Ford Fusion SE V6 with 50000 miles on it. It has the standard features, cloth, no sunroof or spoilers for $10000. We live in near Detroit in case that affects the pricing.
I checked kbb and edmunds.com and they said it is priced way less than its worth. Keep in mind, I would be buying from a Ford dealer.
My mom asked a few friends and they’ve actually said it’s too much. They said it’s already four years old plus its American so it won’t retain its value.
Now my mom is second guessing about whether to buy the car or not. I say we should buy it since its basically a steal, what does everyone else think?
I’m glad it’s at LEAST a V-6… the 3.0 is reliable and wayyy more powerful than the snoozy 2.3l 4 cylinder.
Oh and it’s the end of 2009 (the 2010’s come out quicker and quicker every year) so the car is no more than 3 years old. Don’t really use kelley as a guide b/c it doesn’t ‘buy or sell” cars… It’s just a guide that confuses the public.
The important thing is this: What is the car worth to you. Do you LIKE the features or would you like a more well-equipped car? Is it in good condition overall and when do you think you will start having to pay for wear-items (break pads, rotors, tires, etc.)?

So a base SE has 16″ wheels, rather wimpy cloth seats and a fairly decent radio. B/C it’s a Ford, you have the benefit of buying the car after someone else took a loss in resale value…
One last thing: The Fusion and Mercury Milan just received a minor re-vamp (better 5 speed manual, larger 4 cylinder, better fit and finish) which has a new face and rear, making your 07 look dated. Here is your advantage: It’s less desirable to others for that reason and you can talk the dealership down (doesn’t matter what brand of dealership it is) on the price.
